West & West, Greer & Estorga traces its roots to 1938, when a tradition of trusted, community-centered legal service began in San Antonio — a tradition that continues today across South-Central Texas.
Our Story
From San Antonio to South-Central Texas — A Legacy Built on Trust
West & West, Greer & Estorga is rooted in more than a century of service to the San Antonio legal community. The firm's story began with Ancil S. West — an educator, attorney, judge, and the first dean of San Antonio's original public law school. His leadership helped shape legal education in San Antonio and contributed to the establishment of what would become St. Mary's University School of Law.
That legacy continued through Ancil's son, Ottis A. West, who served as a justice of the peace, San Antonio City Council member, and United States Navy veteran before establishing West & West with his father. Ottis later practiced alongside his son, North O. West, who joined the firm after serving in Vietnam and built a distinguished career representing individuals, families, businesses, and public institutions throughout the San Antonio area.
Today, the West family's tradition of integrity, service, and commitment to the community is carried forward by Dean Greer, Matthew Johnson, and Jessica Estorga. Together, they have expanded the firm's reach and capabilities while remaining grounded in the values that have guided it for generations: trusted counsel, lasting relationships, and dedicated service to Texas families and businesses.

A Multigenerational Legacy
1938
The Firm Is Founded
In 1938, Ancil S. West founded the law practice that would become West & West. Joined by his son, Ottis, the firm began a multigenerational legacy of providing trusted legal counsel to individuals, families, businesses, and public institutions throughout San Antonio and South-Central Texas.
1950s – 1990s
North O. West Carries the Legacy
North O. West continued his father's and grandfather's work, devoting more than 50 years to the San Antonio community and building the firm's reputation as a trusted, multi-generational practice.
2021
Dean Greer Leads the Firm
Following North's passing, Dean W. Greer — with over 40 years of legal experience, including deep expertise in bankruptcy — stepped in to lead the firm, honoring the West family's tradition of service.
2023
Jessica Estorga & Matthew Johnson Join as Shareholders
Jessica Estorga brings a decade of family law and criminal defense experience. Matthew Johnson, former in-house counsel, adds business and real estate expertise. Together they expanded the firm's depth and capacity.
2025
Stockdale Office Opens
The firm extended its reach into Wilson County with a new Stockdale office, continuing its mission to bring trusted legal counsel closer to the communities it serves.
